WEABL recap – 23 November

Just two games took place this week in the WEABL some impressive individual scoring efforts.

Nottingham Academy Wildcats 83-87 Charnwood College Riders

Charnwood picked up their first win of the season in a close battle at Nottingham behind a big scoring effort from Alex Shaw.

She hit an impressive 40 of the Riders’ 87 points with Erin Powell (27) also productive. Megan Curran chipped in with 12 for Charnwood who are 1-2 in the Northern Conference.

Alina Riley (22), Macy Cook (20) and Natalie Charity (17) were the Wildcats’ leading scorers. Nottingham are 2-2.

Copleston High School 97-52 John Madejski Academy

Guard Olivia Forster led Copleston to an emphatic home win over JMA as the Ipswich side recorded their first Southern Conference victory of the WEABL season to go 2-2.

She had a personal 33-point haul, while Yazmin Edwards and Christabel Osarobo were also in double figures with 13 apiece.

John Madejski’s leading scorer was Parfait Elia Ando (17), while Tyra Phelan and Saioa San Francisco had 11 and 10 respectively in a losing effort that sees the Reading side still looking for their first win.
