WEABL Recap – 20 October

Quick as a flash, the WEABL has raced to the end of week three. Nine games have been completed already, including a trio this past Wednesday.

Here’s a recap of all the action from this week, and each score is clickable to access the top scorers/box score where available.

Derby College Trailblazers 110-25 Moulton College

For the third week in a row, Moulton College slipped to a heavy defeat as they went down 110-25 against Derby.

In their opening game of the season, the Trailblazers were good value for the victory as Megan Lovatt (32pts), Megan Adair (17pts) and Kira Sklepic (14pts) all played well.

Moulton were led by by nine points from Jess Lee.

Nottingham Academy Wildcats 84-55 Manchester Mystics Academy

Nottingham made it two wins from two as they beat Manchester 84-55.

Maisie Evison was the star of the show for the hosts, closing on a game-high 22 points, as Natalie Charity added 19 more.

Josephine Vourliotis had 21 for the Mystics in reply, and Charli Wroe was the only other scorer to make it to double digits. She had 15 points.

The American School in London 49-71 City of London Academy

ASL made their WEABL debut yesterday but it wasn’t a day to remember as they lost out 71-49 to City of London Academy.

Maddie Wilkin led all scorers for the hosts on their historic day, she had 17 points and Meghan Lang supplied 15.

It was all in vain however as CoLA spoiled the party, with Isi Ozzy-Momodu top scoring on 14.
