WEABL Player of the Week – 20 October 2021

Following some initial stats hiccups, the WEABL is now able to crown the first Player of the Week of the new season!

Putting up a terrific double-double to push her team to 2-0 on the year, Nottingham’s Praise Egharevba is the WEABL Player of the Week.

Egharevba was a problem for the Manchester Mystics Academy all afternoon, playing a pivotal role in the 84-55 victory.

The talented scorer finished 15 points in 24 minutes of action, controlling the glass with an impressive 13 boards and adding two steals and two assists.

Talking about the game against Manchester, the German youth international said: “It was good to see how the team would play as a unit against a more aggressive opponent.

“We did a good job in defence, trying to be in space and communicate. The energy I got from the bench and on the court was very motivating. For me personally, I still have to do a much better job at finishing my layups, but aside from that I totally enjoyed the game.”

Head coach Kenrick Liburd added: “Praise brings the right attitude and energy to the game, which makes her impactful at the defensive end and on the glass.

“As she is getting back into the swing of things, she is improving every day and will continue to be more influential each week.”
