The Sheffield College 59 – 72 Charnwood College

The Sheffield College put a big fight up against the undefeated Charnwood side, but fell short 72-59 due to some incredible shooting from their opposition.

An extremely impressive shooting performance from the visitors in the second quarter became the difference between two otherwise closely matched sides. The streak pushed Charnwood into a lead they wouldn’t relinquish, and made a comeback unlikely for the hosts.

Although this deficit was caused in the 2nd, the home side fought hard and were still able to pull the score back to a 13 point difference by the final buzzer.

Sharp shooting in particular from the Charnwood’s Kacey Kox (23 points) and Sasha Lecuyer (14 points) led to multiple triples, crucial to the Riders’ win. Sheffield also had some very impressive individual performances with Abbey Whitehouse putting up 26 and Zoe Kateregga scoring 20 more.

Charnwood look to keep their winning streak going as they head into 2020, whilst Sheffield will try to take their record to 4-2 as they face Myerscough away in the New Year.
