Nottingham Academy Wildcats 92 – 49 The Sheffield College

On Monday night, Nottingham Academy Wildcats stretched their win streak to six games with an emphatic 92 -49 win against the visiting Sheffield College.

The win pushes the Wildcats to second in the Northern Conference, a positive step from winning just one game a year ago.

A 26 – 6 first quarter was enough to give Nottingham the start that eventually would give them the platform to make life difficult for the visitors.

21 points a piece for Mariam Olawoyin and Shaniya Rose helped the hosts to victory, who closed the game out with a 20-9 4th quarter.

“We feel good about where we are as a group and the direction in which we are going, after a slow start to the season we are beginning to build momentum at the right time and are beginning to show signs of trust in each other,” said Nottingham Academy Wildcats head coach Kenrick Liburd.

Maisie Evision added 19 for NAW, while the visitors were paced by by 20 from Zoe Katerega and 17 from Ava Patchesa.

Nottingham Academy Wildcats host Derby Trailblazers on Wednesday, attempting to secure 2nd seed in the playoffs, while Sheffield have their second road trip of the week with a battle for places as they take on Manchester.
