Myerscough v Barking Abbey

Defending champions Barking Abbey moved into the Final Four of the WEABL playoffs with a 43-92 success on the road at Myerscough College.

Charlotte Ellmore led BA with 17 points, Imani Whittington had 13, whilst Savannah Wilkinson and Abigail Johnson finished with 12 each.

The home side started well with Shauna Harrison and Milly Knowles combining for 10 of their side’s 16 points in the first quarter.

However, BA stepped up in the second and established a commanding 29-52 advantage to take into the half-time break.

Myerscough continued to fight, but were held to 14 second-half points as the visitors pulled further clear for a convincing win.

“I am really proud of our girls and their performance today and throughout the season,” said Myerscough Head Coach, Julie Page.

“It is the first year of the girls programme at Myerscough and we have had some fantastic results including a big WEABL win over Charnwood.

“I have confidence in each and every one of my girls, and know we will use these experiences to continue moving forward together.”

“Barking are a great side with a wealth of experience including GB senior women’s player Savannah Wilkinson and GB U20’s player Abby Johnson who combined for 25 of their points.”

BA will take on CoLA next week for a place in the Championship game.
