- Updated: February 6, 2018
Myerscough slumped to a 45-32 defeat to City of London Academy (CoLA) on Wednesday in the Women’s Elite Academy Basketball League.
Maya Hyacienth and Megan Haines led CoLA (2-1) with 12 points each.
“We’ve been going away from what we’ve done previously — we’re not kicking the ball ahead and we’ve had good results from that,” said Myerscough guard Shauna Harrison.
Myerscough saw a two-point lead evaporate following an 7-0 run that gave CoLA a 9-13 advantage. The hosts, however, hung tight in a low scoring first quarter before CoLA broke open a 13-19 game to lead by 10 at the break.
CoLA then outscored Myerscough 13-6 in the third quarter to build a 20-37 lead and the gap never dipped below 11.
Milly Knowles scored 12 points and Harrison added 10 for Myerscough (1-3) in the loss.
Myerscough next faces John Madejski Academy on February 21 and CoLA plays Oaklands College.
