Manchester Mystics Academy 61 v 46 Nottingham Academy Wildcats

Jade Mbam led Manchester Mystics Academy with a game high 21 points as the North West side beat Nottingham 61 -46 to move their WEABL campaign to 1-1.

The game started brightly with both sides trading baskets but it was Manchester that took the 1st quarter 24- 21.

The 2nd quarter was a lot tighter with Nottingham taking it 10 – 11, lead by Shanyia Rose’s 13 first half points. Manchester still went into the half up 34 – 32 but it was all to play for in the final 20 minutes.

Manchester upped their intensity in the third thanks to 12 points from captain Mbam. Manchester found themselves taking a 52 – 42 lead into the final period.

The final frame saw both teams playing great defence resulting in a low scoring quarter 9 – 4, which was enough for Manchester to seal the win.

Next game sees Manchester take on Derby at home whereas Nottingham will travel to Derby the following week.
