Itchen Sixth Form College vs Barking Abbey School

After a tough first quarter Barking Abbey defeated Itchen College this Tuesday with a 61-38 score line.

After losing 108-38 on the road the Itchen team were determined to make the game more competitive. With both sides battling it out defensively the first quarter was a tight affair with Barking taking the lead 13-8. Luisa San Juan added 7 points of her own points for Itchen but it was not enough, leaving the visitors 30-15 up at the half.

The third quarter was much the same, with Itchen putting on a tight defensive effort lead by Anabella Villalobos, holding Barking to just 7 points in the 3rd quarter, but unable to capitalise themselves on the offensive end. Itchen College coach Vicky Milner commented on the game saying, “defensively we are have improved massively this season and feel like we can compete with teams but we need to be more clinical on the offensive end. Back to the training court! Credit to Barking who showed their class and closed the game out.”
