Charnwood v Loreto

Charnwood secured a 114-19 victory over Loreto in their last home game of the regular season.

Harriet Swindells netted 13 triples in an impressive 45-point haul to lead the Riders to an unbeaten 8-0 record

It was a great start defensively by Charnwood keeping Loreto to just seven points by half time.

In the second half, Charnwood continued their strong defence which caused Loreto some problems putting them in difficult situations and helped the hosts score in transition.

Loreto responded by shots inside adding 12 points in the second half. Charnwood ended their last home game of the league winning 114-19.

“The girls did a great job today, they performed well as a team and pushed the ball well in transition. We are excited for the next stages of the league,” said Head Coach Krumesh Patel.

Swindells added: “Today we played good team basketball. We concentrated for the full 40 minutes and got the job done.

“We need to maintain this level of concentration for us to get the results we want.”

Megan Jones added 14 points with Maggie Gilbert also reaching double figures with 10 points, while Loreto were led by 10 points from Silvia Okuonghae.

Charnwood visit Myerscough next week in their penultimate game, looking to extend their unbeaten run.
