Barking Abbey 50 – 30 Itchen College

Barking Abbey won a hard-fought game against a much improved Itchen team 50-31.

Itchen starting the better behind guard Charlotte Finn who would score 6 points in the quarter.  Barking struggled to find any rhythm on the offensive end taking a narrow lead into the second quarter.

The second quarter would see Barking start to gain some control behind Tamara Fournillier who would go on to become the games top scorer.  Barking would hold a 10-point lead at the half.

The third quarter would start with Barking scoring the first 6-points behind Nicola Kuzmanovic and Tamara Fournillier.  Itchen would continue to fight and have some very good periods of play.  Barking would hold a 15-point lead entering the fourth.

The fourth was very similar to the 3rd with Tamara Fournillier continuing to play well on both ends of the floor.  Charlotte Finn continued her good play for Itchen but it was Barking who would go onto a comfortable win 50-31.

Head coach Mark Clark said “Itchen are much improved and the coach is doing a great job there, we showed periods of good play but will have to be more consistent on both ends of the floor if we are to progress in the playoffs”
