Copleston cruised into the Final Four of the WEABL playoffs with a dominant display against Manchester Mystics Academy on Wednesday.

Manchester has the better of the opening exchanges, holding a 12-10 lead after five minutes, but Copleston soon found their feet to close the quarter with a 9-0 run to lead 19-12 after the first.

The second quarter saw Copleston find their shooting touch, with Charlotte Redhead going 4/4 from downtown while Ella Pearson also connected on a pair of triples as the home side increased their lead, going into the break with a more comfortable 49-27 advantage.

The third saw Copleston further exert their size and experience, although the pace of the game slowed significantly. Copleston again won the period, going into the games finals stanza up 63-34.

The final quarter was a formality, with Manchester winning the period and playing their best basketball as Copleston took their foot off the gas.

“This was a great win for us. We made it to the Final Fours last season and we want to do even better this year,” said Copleston guard Ella Pearson.

Pearson led her side with 20 points, with Redhead adding 19. Holly Bryan scored 20 for the Mystics.

Copleston host Barking Abbey next week for a place in the WEABL playoff final.
