WEABL recap – 7 December

Just two games took place this week in the WEABL – both in the Southern Conference – as we move towards the Christmas break.

Copleston High School 100-61 Oaklands College

Copleston dished out a heavy defeat to Southern Conference rivals Oaklands to move to 3-2 with Great Britain U18s guard Liv Forster influential.

She racked up 29 of the Ipswich side’s ton of points as Louisa Gibbins and
Yazmin Edwards both had productive games with 22 apiece.

Oaklands – who are 2-3 – were led by Miriam Menendez’s 19-point haul.
Kizzy Spence (10) and Cleo Lewis-Gayle (8) also chipped in.

City of London Academy 70-49 Itchen College

CoLA cemented their position at the top of the Southern standings by inflicting Itchen’s first defeat of the WEABL season.

Ebere Egbirika carried the scoring load for the Southwark side, now 5-1, with a game-high 23 points.

Emily O’Connell (11) and Felicia Jacobs (10) were also in double figures.

Erin Caldwell hit 12 for Itchen, who fall to 3-1, while Faye Endean (11) Anna Nevison (9) also grabbed points.
