WEABL Player of the Week – 1 December 2021

The WEABL season has moved into the final month of 2021, but there’s still time to recognise another worthy Player of the Week performance

Pushing her side to their fourth win of the year and into a tie for top spot in the South conference, Oaklands’ Jocie Leavold is the WEABL POTW!

As the Wolves knocked off Barking 72-50 on the road, the talented forward was doing her thing.

With an impressive 21 point, 15 rebound double-double to go with 3 steals and a final efficiency rating of 26, Leavold was a player on a mission this week.

Leavold said: “I’ve been working hard in training and it’s nice to see it’s paying off.

“My team deserve a lot of credit though for continuing to push me to be better every day.”

Head coach Lauren Milligan added: “This is what Oaklands is all about. We want to give young players the opportunity at the WBBL level so that when they play in the WEABL they can really excel.

“Jocie has been with us for a while now, she’s had to be patient and work very hard to be at this point, but we have believed in her and supported her development.

“The most exciting part is that I believe she still has a lot more to show. Big double doubles like this aren’t just given. The future is bright for her!”
