In the result of the day, #4 seed Barking Abbey knocked out last season’s WEABL champions and #1 seed in the North Charnwood College following a 66-58 road win. Molly James led all scorers for the Riders with 25 points, but it wouldn’t be enough against a balanced Barking attack, with Elizabeth Osilaja (13 points), Cynthia Adebayo (11 points), Nikola Kuzmanovic (11 points), Anna Trett (10 points) and Tamara Fornillier-Onadeko (10 points) all reaching double digits.

The remaining #1 seeds in John Madejski Academy are safely though to the Final Fours however as they eased past The Sheffield College 76-57. Sitota Gines led the way once again for the Rockets, scoring 20, as Ana Patchesa dropped a game high 21 points for the visitors.

#2 seeds Nottingham Academy Wildcats followed Charnwood out of the playoffs as all four sides from the Northern Conference were eliminated today, with City of London Academy coming out victorious 54-50. Adaobi Nebuwa led all scorers with 13 points for CoLA, and Praise Egharevba had a team high 12 for the beaten hosts.

Fellow #2 seeds Copleston avoided the same fate though as they overcame #3 Manchester Mystics Academy 81-56. Ella Pearson’s 20 points were a deciding factor for the hosts, with Charlotte Redhead adding 19 and Susannah Rafiu finishing on 17. Holly Bryan scored 20 points for the Mystics.

Those results mean that the line up for next week’s Final Fours is an all Southern Conference affair, with #2 Copleston High School securing a home tilt against #4 Barking Abbey, whilst #1 seed John Madejski Academy will host #3 City of London Academy. Both ties will be played on Wednesday 4 March.
