2019/20 WEABL Playoffs set to get underway

After an exciting and action packed regular season across the WEABL, the 2019/20 playoffs are set to begin with four intriguing post season match ups.

Opening with the Elite Eight stage of the playoffs on 26 February, reigning champions Charnwood (8-1) take the #1 seed after another impressive season and will take on the Southern Conference’s #4 seed Barking Abbey (5-4).

Nottingham Academy Wildcats (8-2) also enjoyed an impressive season and will be the North’s #2 seed in this year’s playoffs. They will face last year’s runner’s up in City of London Academy, as they take the South’s #3 spot after a 7-3 record in the regular season.

The North’s #3 seed Manchester Mystics Academy (5-4) will play the South’s #2 seed Copleston High School (7-2), while Sheffield College (5-5) take the final #4 spot in the North and face the South’s #1 seed John Madejski Academy (7-1).

The winners from the Elite Eight stage will battle it out in the Final Four contests, set to take place on 4 March.

Following a week off, the Academy Finals for the ABL, EABL and WEABL will take place at University of Essex Sport Arena on Wednesday 18 March.
