WEABL Player of Week 11 – Esther Little

After a long lay off through injury, Copleston’s Esther Little came back with a bang this week to take our WEABL Player of the Week honours.

The Suffolk side needed to hold off a late charge from visitors City of London Academy, but Copleston eventually secured an important 55-50 win thanks to a stunning 10 point, 17 rebound, 10 assist triple-double from the GB international. Little also added five blocks and three steals to her afternoon’s work for a final efficiency rating of 30.

“I can’t thank my teammates enough for what they have done for me on and off the court this season,” said Little after receiving the award.

“I have missed playing like crazy, but they have made being out a lot easier by playing so well. It’s allowed me to ease my way back in, which has been great.

“I wasn’t expecting to win this award, it means a lot of after a tough few months – but it doesn’t happen without my team.”

Copleston coach Nick Drane added: “It’s going to be a few weeks before Esther is back to full speed, but she is so talented and influential that she can still dominate in so many ways. It’s pretty good to have her back.”
