Game Day Recap – Week 12

It’s been a busy day in the WEABL with no less than five games taking place in week 12.

Charnwood remained unbeaten in the Northern Conference as they eased past Myerscough 88-42. Hannah Bird and Hannah Dawson both had 16 points for the Riders, with Celina Eisenhardt once again leading the way for Myerscough. She finished with 17 points.

Mariam Olawoyin’s 26 points helped Nottingham strengthen their lofty place in the Northern standings as the Wildcats defeated Manchester 69-47. Jade Mbam scored a team high 20 points for the Mystics in reply.

In the Southern Conference, Barking Abbey pulled off a big victory as they defeated Copleston 67-58 after OT. Jolicia Cadogan’s 20 points were enough to push BA across the line, with the hosts managing to keep Copleston scoreless in the extra period to secure a valuable three points.

Leaders John Madejski Academy celebrated another win as 19 points from Carmen Segura Moreno helped the Rockets past Itchen 62-34. Charlotte Finn also had 19 points for Itchen, but it wouldn’t be enough to earn the South coast side their first W of the year.

Oaklands College came close to a first victory of the season but fell just short against CoLA with a 50-44 final score. Simona Henshaw’s 16 points made all the difference for CoLA in a low scoring game, Grace Ashton top scored for the Wolves with 12.

We’ll have full reports of all these games tomorrow afternoon.
