WEABL Player of Week 4 – Ella Pearson

For the first time this season there’s a back to back WEABL Player of the Week as Copleston’s Ella Pearson has once again grabbed the award for week 4!

After a solid defensive display to go with 24 points against CoLA in week 3, Pearson went one better last Wednesday as she exploded for 40 points to help Copleston beat Barking Abbey. Adding 13 rebounds and three steals, Pearson’s performance netted her an impressive 41 efficiency rating.

“Winning player of the week is something really special and it’s nice to have recognition for myself and the team,” said Pearson. “On Wednesday we played a fast game which allowed opportunities for us to score but we had to work hard on both ends of the floor to get the win.”

“Ella has made a fantastic start to the season, her stats speak for themselves,” said Copleston head coach Nick Drane. “But this was a great win for the whole team. Barking Abbey have been the biggest name in the WEABL since it was launched, so it’s always a really tough game. To be 2-0 against this level of competition is great.”
