Player of the Week: Kyra Smith

In the last week of the WEABL regular season games, Myerscough’s Kyra Smith receives the Player of the Week award for her outstanding double-double performance of 12 points and 17 rebounds to go along with 5 assists and 4 steals, in a home victory over Nottingham.

Myerscough led 31-21 at halftime but it was the play of Kyra Smith in the second half who helped put the game to rest, featuring a 3-point play in the third quarter that would help stretch the advantage to 17 points with 3:36 on the clock. Nottingham, ultimately, couldn’t recover the deficit.

Kyra Smith commented on her performance stating, “Its great to get this award again and I can only thank my teammates  the effort hey put in to get this win. Pleased to have finished the WEABL on a high.”

Myerscough Coach Mike Bernard said, “It is great to see Kyra being rewarded for all her efforts and hard work. Receiving Player of the Week is a great honour and it shows hard work pays off, she has finished out the WEABL season on a high note.”
