Player of the Week: Esther Little

Esther Little has been awarded her second WEABL Player of the Week for this season, after picking up the honour back in Week 2, as she dropped an impressive triple-double performance in Copleston High School’s 86-43 win over Itchen College.

The 6’2″ guard had 16 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists, along with five steals, as she dominated over the court for the Suffolk side.

Little pointed to a team performance when receiving the nomination, “It’s fantastic to win this award but I feel like this really should be shared amongst the team. For Becky [Hardwood-Bellis] to score 20 in her first game for us after a long injury lay-off is amazing, plus both Charlotte [Redhead] and Cam [Taylor-Willis] put in big performances like they always do.

“Most importantly we got another win and are getting better all the time,” she added.

Copleston Coach Nick Drane spoke highly of the young star, “Esther continues to improve at a tremendous rate, that is testament to her work ethic and tenacity. She impacts the game in so many different ways and the best bit is she has so much to learn.”
