Player of the Week: Paula Romero Tarrega

Paula Romero Tarrega has been named as the Player of the Week for Week 11 after leading John Madejski Academy to victory.

The 2001-born guard poured in 31 points as well as adding 12 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals in a 71-59 success over Loreto.

“I am really happy to have this award and I receive it on behalf of the team as they have helped me so much this season,” she said.

“We played a good game against Loreto and I was really pleased with my performance so of course it is great to gain this accolade and I am hoping that more of my teammates can do the same thing next season.

“I have really enjoyed playing in the WEABL and we can’t wait until next year to be even better.”

JMA Head Coach Blai Benlloch added: “We are really pleased as an academy to have our second WEABL player of the week and huge congratulations to Paula who has been performing really well lately especially since the injury of Noa (Sanchez Marques).

“I have been really pleased with how we have competed in the WEABL in what is our first season and for Paula to receive this accolade is really special.”

JMA picked up their second win and finished their debut season at home to Charnwood.
