Copleston’s Ashleigh Pink has been named Player of the Week after recording a triple-double in the penultimate week of the regular season.

Pink tallied 10 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists and also grabbed five steals in her side’s comfortable win against Loreto.

“It’s an honour to have received this award, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the rest of my team,” she said.

“We have really come a long way this season, improving in every game with everyone developing their own game within the team. We knew Loreto would be tough, there are no easy games against teams from Manchester.

“Getting assists is made that much easier when Harriet Welham is scoring like she is this season.”

Copleston’s Head Coach added: “Ashleigh is one of those rare kids that combines great talent with a great work ethic and impeccable attitude – she deserves this award and recognition.

“She has been tremendous all season, I am delighted with her progress and am very proud of her, not just for winning this award but for her play all season.”

Copleston complete their first campaign in the inaugural WEABL season with another clash against Loreto.
