Player of the Week: Harriet Swindells

Charnwood College’s Harriet Swindells has picked up her second Player of the Week award after her Week 4 performance.

Swindells had 15 points and 2 assists as she went 3/6 from beyond the arc in Charnwood’s hard fought 65-62 victory over City of London Academy to improve to 2-0.

“CoLA played tough throughout the game therefore caused us problems, however we worked together, kept the intensity up and pushed through to get the win,” Swindells said.

“It was a scrappy game which meant that it was sometimes hard to get the offence flowing, however we found advantages in the people who were on court and maximised their strengths to get points on the board.”

Charnwood Head Coach Krumesh Patel added:

“It was a difficult game against City of London Academy. They had a strong game plan and caused us problems, but the girls worked hard and found solutions to gain second victory in the WEABL. Harriet shot the ball really well from the outside, shooting 3 from 6, as well as growing from her first game as a leader. Harriet, like others in the team, are getting better each week and it is exciting to see the players grow.”

Charnwood College will look to continue their good start against Oaklands College on Wednesday 25th November..
