Player of the Week: Harriet Swindells

Charnwood College’s Harriet Swindells has been named the first ever WEABL Player of the Week, for Week 1 of the 2015-16 season.

Swindells had 14 points as Charnwood took down Loreto 51-62 in Manchester, where Swindells originally played, to open the season.

“It was a competitive game especially playing against old teammates, however I think I kept my head and delivered a good performance to help us win,” Swindells said.

“As a team we executed everything we have been practicing and everyone contributed, it was a good start to the season and now we are focusing on the next game.”

Charnwood will face City of London Academy on the 11th November.

“The girls did great in their first WEABL game, all 12 girls contributed to the win,” Charnwood Head Coach Krumesh Patel said.

“Harriet was good in her first game for Charnwood, showing that she can score as well get others involved. She earned her right to be the first WEABL player of the week. There’s a lot more to still come from her and the rest of the players on the team.”
